London Weekend Trips

Halloween weekend we spent Friday night having dinner with friends at Barbecoa, a Jamie Oliver Restaurant.

Saturday, Nov 1 we took a bus up to Oxford. It was only about an hour and a half bus ride from the London city center but you felt like you were in a different world when there. We spent the day exploring Oxford with our friends, having lunch, renting a boat to go punting and checking out some of the local pubs.

As you can see people must have been shorter in 1242.

The following weekend, November 7-8 we took a train from London to the Cotswolsds, or more specifically Cheltenham. We had been wanting to see the English countryside and this was a great opportunity for that. We mostly explored the town and pub hopped. We went to a place called the Green Dragon for dinner and drinks. It was cozy with a roaring fire, just what we needed to get out of the cold. It had been just starting to get pretty cold in London so it was great to go the countryside to get that fall feel with fires in most bars/pubs (can you tell I miss a good winter fire?!)
